Kijiji is eBay’s free local classifieds portal. It launched in March 2005 internationally, and in Summer 2007 in the US. It competes most directly with Craigslist, even though eBay is a 25% investor in the Craigslist.
Kijiji (pronounced key-gee-gee) is Swahili for village. Kijiji has over 45 million unique visitors per month and boasts 7 million total live ads with nearly 200,000 ads listed daily (equivalent to 2 new ads every second). It is the No 2 classifieds site in theUSA.
